All cello strings - A, D, G and C- are wound with thin threads of metal - aluminium, copper and different alloys. These strings produce a warm, brillant and powerful tone. The G and C strings are also available with an upper winding of pure silver, which makes the sound more like that of gut strings. These strings are called "Silver".
All cello strings are made in 3 tensions: forte (stark), medium, dolce (weich).
